15 NEW FOREIGN STUDENTS JOIN PCTE

“There are more than 40 students studying at PCTE Group of Institutes from various countries like Ghana, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Uganda, Rwanda, Cameroon and Afghanistan in the various courses,” informed Dr. K.N.S.Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes, during a press conference organized at PCTE Campus II on 16th Sept 2009. He mentioned that for the first time PCTE has a girl student from Afghanistan who has joined BBA in PCTE.

This year 15 new foreign students have joined PCTE (Punjab College of Technical Education) Group of Institutes in MBA, BBA, BCA and M.Sc IT. 1 student from Afghanistan, 7 students from Tanzania and 2 students from Zimbabwe have joined BBA, 1 student from Zimbabwe has joined BCA, 1 student from Tanzania has joined MBA, 2 students from Tanzania have joined MBA-International Business and 1 student from Mozambique has joined M.Sc IT.

Kehzdai, a new foreign student in BBA from Afghanistan said, “It hardly makes any difference to me whether I am in Afghanistan or in India because my culture and beliefs are the same as like Indians. I speak Urdu very well which is a cousin language of Hindi. I feel very comfortable here as I am more independent and liberal here. Women have freedom of speech in India whereas in Afghanistan still restrictions are there, that’s why I traveled from Afghanistan to India. I knew that I will become a part of this country and in this college nothing feels new, everything feels like…….. Home.”

Athumani, a new foreign student in MBA from Tanzania said that I joined PCTE as it imparts quality education in all spheres. I know that every foreign student is given freedom to evolve which means we will be developed in such a way that we become future professionals capable of bracing the ever evolving business environment.

Mukurasi Smachus from Tanzania has joined MBA-International Business in first year. He believes that there is unprecedented demand for global professionals in the fast growing world of management and international business will provide you a wide exposure where you will not only have a flair of one culture but multidimensional diversity and I think PCTE is the right place to be………where I can thrive to have a leading attitude in thinking and implementing.

On this occasion Dr. K.N.S.Kang remarked that the presence of foreign students in the institute builds up the morale of the Indian national students as well. To be at international global level one can groom itself only by having diversity of students. Having foreign students have made PCTE go global. We wish that all our foreign students cherish for what they are striving for.”
