VC, PTU meets foreign students of PCTE


Dr. Rajneesh Arora, Vice Chancellor Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar
met foreign students of Punjab College of Technical Education (PCTE)
during farewell party to ten passing out students from batches 2006-2009
held at Lodhi Club, Ludhiana on 18th June 2009, Thursday. Madam Sarojini
Gautam Sharda, Registrar, PTU, Jalandhar and Dr. Sarabjit Singh, Dy. Dean
International Affaris, PTU, Jalandhar were also accompanying the Vice
Chancellor on the occasion. Wg. Cdr. H.S.Gill, Chairman, PCTE
Institutes, Dr. K.N.S.Kang, Director General PCTE Institutes, and other
senior officers of PCTE were present

On this occasion, Dr. K.N.S.Kang, Director General, PCTE Institutes
presented all the foreign students of PCTE to Dr. Rajneesh Arora, VC, PTU
and other officials from the university. Dr. Kang informed that PCTE has
more than 40 students from 7 different countries of Africa namely
Tanzania, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Uganda and Mozambique and Cameroon
studying in various courses. These 10 passing out students belong to Zimbabwe,
Tanzania,Mozambique and Ghana who are going back to their native countries
after completing their BBA and BCA degrees.

"It is more difficult leaving PCTE than we expected. We thought leaving
India would be a big pleasure; we could not wait for it. New people, new
places everybody likes be in home but now leaving these people is very
difficult for all of us. We have not only friends here but we have made
family. It is with great regrets that we are leaving. PCTE has given us
wonderful experience for the studies, teacher's cooperation, care and
concern regarding our progress. We thank all of our teachers, Director and
every student we have had the pleasure of meeting" remarked two passing
out foreign students of PCTE Ms. Samkhani and Ms. Masanjauo from Tanzania
on the occasion.

On this occasion, Dr. Rajneesh Arora, Vice Chancellor, PTU informed that
PTU has opened International Cell to promote Indian education and attract
more foreign students to PTU for different courses being offered by the
University. Dr. Arora interacted with foreign students of PCTE and
discussed about their studies, grooming, general environment, problems faced
and stay during the studies. Dr. Arora wished them good luck for their future
efforts and appreciated the efforts of PCTE for uplifting the standards of
education in the state by providing quality education to all its students.
The Vice Chancellor has also shown his keen interest in developing strong
ties with their countries and invited more no. of students to join the
courses at PTU.
