PCTE students win eight prizes at national level competition held at IIT, Roorkee


PCTE students have bagged eight prizes at national level literary cum cultural competition “THOMSO-2009” held at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT, Roorkee) from 29th October 2009 to 1st November 2009.

While congratulating all the winners, Dr.K.N.S.Kang, Director General said that winning prizes at national level competitions help in gaining more self confidence for the students. It was good exposure for the students to compete at national level and winning prizes. Dr.Kang further informed that there were more than 100 teams all over India participated in the competition including more than 80 academic and cultural events.

The team of PCTE students won eight prizes in nine different events in the competition. Manraj Pattar student of MCA won 2nd prize in Indian Solo Song competition titled “Sargam” More than 100 contestants participated in this event from different parts of the country. Oka, student of MBA won 3rd prize in Western Solo Song competition. Oka and Apurav bagged 2nd prize in Poster making competition. Oka and Abhishek William won 2nd Prize in Tatoo Making competition. More than 80 teams were participating in Tatoo Making competition.

Manjot Pargat Singh Pandher student of BBA second year stood 5th in Debate competition in which more than 85 teams across the country competed. Chetna and Gurmat won first prize in Mehndi and qualified for second round of competition titled “Mad Ads”. Chetna and Gurmat won 3rd prize in Mad Ad competition. Atul Sharma bagged 2nd prize in an Informal Event “Guitar”. Team of Bhangra qualified for the finals.
