Challenges of Change can be met through Speed & Efficiency, says Mr. Mahesh Munjal, MD, Hero Majestic at International Conferences held at PCTE


“Challenges of change can be met with speed and efficiency in business operations” said Mr. Mahesh Munjal, Managing Director, Hero Majestic during inauguration function of 6th Management Conference on Management in Changing Global Scenario (ICMCGS’09) and 5th International Conference on Downtrend Challenges in IT(DCIT’09) at PCTE Campus on 22 May 2009. Mr. Mahesh Munjal was present on the occasion as Chief Guest. Dr. Rajesh Pillania, Professor of Strategic Management from MDI, Gurgaon was the Key Note Speaker. Wg. Cdr. H.S.Gill, Chairman, PCTE Institutes, Dr. Jamil Chowdhary from CIIT, Lahore, Pakistan, Professor Robert Moreton, Dean, School of Computers & IT, University of Wolvo Hampton, Prof. Jasbir Singh Uppal, HoD, University of Wolvohampton were other dignitaries present on the occasion. The inaugural session started with the Welcome note by Dr. K.N.S.Kang, Director General, PCTE Institutes followed by Key Note address by Dr. Rajesh Pillania and speech by Mr. Mahesh Munjal, Chief Guest of the day. At the end Wg. Cdr. H.S.Gill, Chairman PCTE Institutes thanked all the distinguished guests and speakers and congratulated the organizers. About 35 research papers in IT and 31 in Managent Conferences were presented by the delegates from various parts of the country namely, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, J&K, West Bengal, UP, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and abroad such as UK and Pakistan.

While welcoming the guests on the occasion, Dr. K.N.S.Kang, Director General, PCTE Institutes remarked that every challenge is a result of change of one or another kind in business or social areas. Such conferences aim to highlight those changes and challenges so that suitable strategies can be followed to lessen down the negative effects of change. Dr. Kang welcomed all the delegates on the occasion and wished them best of luck for their technical sessions.

While presenting keynote addtress, Dr. Rajesh Pillania stressed on certain factors of change such as Globalisation, Technology, Knwoledge Advancement, Creativity & Innovation and Research particularly. He emphasized that no strategy can ever be Global Strategy. The strategies are framed at regional level. Dr. Pillania said that IT is one area which has brought several changes and Challenges to the world. Human Empowerment, Strong Educational Base, Basic fundamentals and systems, Refined business processes, Cost Controlling techniques are some of the ways to manage the challenges before industry. Dr. Pillania highly advocated such conferences which force academia and industry to be proactive in managing challenges in the field of business management and Computers.

While extending his speech Mr. Mahesh Munjal, Chief Guest remarked that business efficiency in operations can be achieved by cost cutting and at the same time maintaining the highest quality standards. Mr. Munjal stressed on empowerment of employees in the organization because it adds to the organizational efficiency. Mr. Munjal quoted the contributions of FW Taylor in the form of Scientific Management which is years old concept but still alive, operational and the most effective method for getting competitive advantage in global economy. Mr. Munjal also suggested the management students and delegates to held true spirit of working for organization in terms of time and effort. Knowledge advancement is another area to be worked upon by the employees of any organization to achieve excellence.
