PCTE RUNS for “SAY NO TO DRUGS” & “FOLLOW TRAFFIC RULES


Punjab college Of Technical Education will be organizing Cross Country Run tomorrow. The Run will be flagged off by Police Commissioner of Ludhiana Mr. Ishwar Singh. The Moto of the run is to “Say No to drugs” and “follow Traffic Rules”. The objective behind the theme is to promote awareness among the people of the city regarding the ill effects of drugs and encouraging the youth to say no to drugs. The run will also highlight the importance of Traffic Rules among the masses and tips will be given to the students, faculty and staff of the college regarding the traffic rules and systems. Approximately 1000 students from all the colleges of the PCTE Group will be participating in this run.

Dr K.N.S.Kang, Director General Of the PCTE Group of Institutes said that the run is an effort on the part of institute to promote fitness and awareness among the young people of city regarding deadly disease of Drug Addition. He said that today’s youth is quite prone to drugs and no of students addicted to drugs is increasing at alarming pace in the society. These types of efforts will help the society in eradicating this deadly menace. Further he said that another major problem Ludhiana city is facing is traffic congestion and violation of traffic rules by the people. If we all become sincere and encourage others to follow the rules of traffic we can solve maximum traffic problems and will be able to reduce accidents in the city as well.
