Cross Country Run at PCTE to “Say No to Drugs” and “Follow Traffic Rules


Punjab College of Technical Education Run the Cross Country Run to promote “Say No to Drugs” and “Follow Traffic Rules”. The run started at 12: 45 pm from Campus-II to Campus-I of PCTE Group of Institutes. Approximately 1500 students from all the colleges of PCTE participated in the Run for Nobel cause. The run was flagged off by S.P Traffic Ludhiana Mr. Rupinder Singh. Mr. Anil Kumar, SHO Traffic Police along with many other senior traffic officials were present on the occasion.

The run was an integral part of athletic meet of the PCTE Group of Institutes. In boys students of BCA Ist year section A won the first position and second position was won by BCA-I (B). Students of BBA-I (B) won the third position in boy’s category. In girls students of BBA 1st Year section D won the first position and second position was won by BCA-II (B) students. BCA-Ist year Section C girls won the third position. The objective behind the Run was to promote awareness among the people of the city regarding the ill effects of drugs and encouraging the youth to say no to drugs. The run also highlighted the importance of Traffic Rules among the masses and tips were given to the students, faculty and staff of the college regarding the traffic rules and systems.

Dr K.N.S.Kang, Director General Of the PCTE Group of Institutes said that the run was an effort on the part of institute to promote fitness and awareness among the young people of city regarding deadly disease of Drug Addition. He said that today’s youth is quite prone to drugs and no of students addicted to drugs is increasing at alarming pace in the society. These types of efforts will help the society in eradicating this deadly menace. Further he said that another major problem Ludhiana city is facing is traffic congestion and violation of traffic rules by the people. The run was an effort to make all of us sincere towards traffic rules and encourage others to follow the rules of traffic by which we can solve maximum traffic problems and will be able to reduce accidents in the city as well.
