8th Annual Sports Meet of PCTE Concluded


PCTE Group of Institutes concluded its 8th annual Sports meet yesterday. Varinder, of BBA Final year was declared the Best Boy athlete and Aika, of BBA 2C was declared the best Girl athlete of this year.

The meet started last week with over 35 classes participating in Tug of war competition. BBA Final year A Section defeated Bachelors of Hotel management 1st year in the final. The Cross Country race “Say no to drugs and Follow Traffic Rules” was flagged of by SP Traffic (Ludhiana) Mr. Rupinder Singh.

First, second and third position was won by BCA 1A, BCA 1B and BBA 1B. Shotput (Boys) event was won by Bir Davinder Singh (BBA 3 A), followed by Amrinder of BBA 2D and third position was bagged by Jaswinder of MCA 1st.

Harman of BCA 3B and Jasleen Kaur of MBA 2A, won the first position in Boys and Girls Discuss throw event. Navjot Singh, Smachus and Sandeep Singh were 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively in Long jump (Boys) and Kiranpret Kaur, Supam and Bobby won 1st, 2nd and 3rd position in Girls section of the same event. In 1500m race Mandeep Singh of MBA 2C was 1st with Jaswinder Singh and Gaurav coming 2nd and 3rd.

Pardeep Singh was 1st in Body Lifting (Boys) and Supam was 1st in the Girls section of the same.

Puneet Singh, Pardeep Singh and Raghav Sharma bagged the 1st position in the Body building competition. Aika and Varinder were the 1st in 100m dash. Relay race was won by MCA 1st in Girls section and BHMCT 1st year. Dr. K.N.S. Kang, Director General of PCTE group of Institutes, later on congratulating the winners said “Healthy mind resides in a healthy body. The youth has to be infused with the spirit of maintaining the healthy body. Not only the winners but all the participants are worth my honest congratulations for showing the sportsman spirit and enthusiasm for participation.”
