AICTE Approves PCTE for offering PGDM Programme autonomously


All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), body of Govt of India approved PCTE Group of Institutes as Integrated campus for running Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme. The programme is of two years duration and is equivalent to MBA course. Students who had graduated in any stream are eligible to get admission in the programme.

Dr. K.N.S.Kang, Director General PCTE group of Institutes said that PCTE is one of the premier institutes in Punjab who got approval for running PGDM programme. PGDM in PCTE is an autonomous programme where curriculum and contents of the subjects have been desighned as per the requirements of the Industry. PCTE will have flexibility in formulating Course Curriculum. New developments and academic requirements of the industry will be continuously watched and would form the basis for developing courses. PCTE group has decided to involve the industry of the region in running this programme.The executives and industrialists of the area will provide the exposure to industry’s problems and developments so that PCTE graduates can be groomed accordingly and can compete in competitive environment.

Dr. Kang also informed that out of Top 50 B-Schools of the country approx 45 institutes are running PGDM programme and only a few University approved MBA Programmes are ranked among the top B-Schools List. He said that the programme is a highly practical and Industry oriented where young budding professional of the country will be groomed and taught as per the requirements of the International markets and Industry. The programme also attracts high degree of International Exposure where students will be sent abroad and taught in Universities of repute.
